The goal of the project is mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of a saltational mode of bed load transport of single spherical particle and cluster of particles under variable flow conditions in channel. The project will be focussed on development of the numerical model, which covers the further refered stages of the bed load transport of a single particle (stationary particle, incipient motion, sliding or rolling along the bed, saltation, stopping of the motion), extension of the model for the shear velocity variable in time and along the channel bed, and for the bed roughness variable along the channel bed. Further, the effect of inter-particles collisions will be studied and finally the numerical model of the bed load transport of cluster of saltating particles will be developed. The project will also deal with analysis of starting and stopping of the particle motion for an arbitrary bed roughness, which structure will be described by two parameters, the bed roughness and the packing density.
