The project objective is adaptation of the management of Lipno - Hněvkovice - Orlik - Slapy water reservoir systém to the variability of external conditions, determining optimum methods of the water systém utilization and detection of pollution limits and threshold values of crucial quantities. Significant processes and quantities in the reservoir systém basin shall be determined and the impact of those values on water quality in individual reservoirs of the systém shall be quantified. Water quality in reservoirs and connecting river sections shall be simulated using dynamic two-dimensional CE-QUAL-W2 model. Based on analysis of partial basin characteristics, the hydrological data and data on quality of water running of to channel or reservoir shall be acquired from the precipitation and run-off model. Within the project, simulations shall be performed using a 20-year data series after model optimization to determine the impact of external conditions variability on the reservoir systém, and besides critical situations shall be simulated such as progress and retention of extreme flow volumes, simulations of environmental accidents in the basin and a scenario study of expected development of pollution sources in the systém basin. Project output shall include a proposal regarding the optimization of storage systém management (under common and critical conditions) with respect to water quality and determination of pollution limits and threshold values of important quantities. |
