The mixing is a very important and presents more than 60 percent of all basic processes in chemical and process industry. There is in reactors of large agitated tanks commonly treated huge amount of mass by a impeller e. g. in chemical and mining industry or in waste water treatment. The development of new technologies carries the requirements on higher quality of the final products with lower demands on treatment costs. The better understanding of the flow field inside agitated tank and dipper knowledge of the mixing process should be return more efficient mixing equipment. For this approach are used empirical data as well as numerical simulations verified by the experimental measurements.
Research activities
- Measurements of flow field inside agitated tanks by the Laser Doppler Anemometry.
- Measurement of pumping characteristics of newly designed impellers.
- Modeling of a multiphase flow in mixing reactors.
