On October 3, 2025, RNDr. Václav Šípek, Ph.D., was officially appointed Director of the Institute of Hydrodynamics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. He received the appointment decree from the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prof. RNDr. Radomír Pánek, Ph.D., who was accompanied by the Vice-President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Ing. Ilona Müllerová, DrSc.
The new director was selected in a competitive selection process by the Selection Committee of the Academic Council of the Czech Academy of Sciences. His term of office runs from October 6, 2025, to October 5, 2030.
